"When I am Weak | Dig Deep Week 4"
Day 1: Finding Strength in Weakness
Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
Devotional: Paul's thorn in the flesh reminds us that even spiritual giants face weaknesses. Yet, it's through these very weaknesses that God's power is perfected. Today, reflect on your own vulnerabilities. How might God be using them to showcase His strength? Remember, when we are weak, then we are truly strong in Christ. Consider sharing one of your weaknesses with a trusted friend or family member, and pray for God's grace to be sufficient in that area of your life.
Day 2: The Unchanging God in a Changing World
Reading: Hebrews 13:8 and James 1:17
Devotional: In a world of constant flux, our God remains steadfast. Everything seems to be changing - from weather to relationships to work. Yet, we serve a God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. How does this truth anchor your soul amid life's storms? Take a moment to list three ways God's unchanging nature has provided stability in your life. Let this exercise renew your trust in His constancy.
Day 3: Digging Deep into God's Word
Reading: Luke 6:46-49
Devotional: Jesus teaches us that those who come to Him, listen, and obey are like those who dig deep and build their house on a rock. This imagery invites us to establish our lives on the solid foundation of God's Word. How often do you truly dig deep into Scripture? Today, challenge yourself to spend extra time meditating on this passage. What does it mean for you to build your life on Christ's teachings? Identify one practical way you can apply this Scripture to your daily life.
Day 4: Embracing God's Grace in Our Brokenness
Reading: Isaiah 64:8 and Jeremiah 18:1-6
Devotional: The Japanese art of kintsugi is an artform where broken pottery is mended with gold, making it more beautiful than before. Similarly, God, the Master Potter, takes our brokenness and creates something beautiful. Reflect on a time when God has used a broken situation in your life for good. How has His grace been sufficient in your weakness? Spend time in prayer, surrendering your broken pieces to the Potter's hands, trusting in His redemptive work.
Day 5: The Power of Christ in Our Weaknesses
Reading: 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 and Philippians 4:13
Devotional: God often chooses the weak things of the world to shame the strong. This paradox of the Kingdom challenges our worldly notions of strength and success. Today, consider an area of your life where you feel inadequate or weak. How might God be inviting you to rely more fully on His strength in this area? Remember Paul's words: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." End your devotional time by "boasting" in your weaknesses before God, inviting His power to work through them for His glory.
