October 27th Sermon & Devotionals

Five-Day Bible Reading Plan and Devotional

Sermon Audio

"All Need It"

Day 1: All Need Salvation

Reading: Romans 3:21-26

Devotional: Today's reading reminds us of a humbling truth: we all fall short of God's glory. But it doesn't end there. Paul immediately follows with "yet God" - two powerful words that change everything. Reflect on areas in your life where you feel inadequate or imperfect. Now, consider how God's grace meets you in those very places. How does knowing that salvation is for all, including you, change your perspective on your shortcomings? Today, practice gratitude for God's freely given grace that makes us right in His sight.

Day 2: The Perfect One is Close to You

Reading: Hebrews 4:14-16

Devotional: Yesterday, we acknowledged our imperfections. Today, we're reminded that the perfect One - Jesus - is close to us. He understands our weaknesses because He experienced them, yet without sin. In what areas of your life do you need to remember that Jesus is near? Perhaps in a challenging relationship, a new job, or an uncertain future? Take a moment to approach God's throne of grace with confidence, knowing that Jesus is right there with you, offering mercy and grace in your time of need.

Day 3: Salvation is For All

Reading: Acts 10:34-43

Devotional: Salvation is for all - regardless of background, identity, or affiliation. Peter's realization in today's reading echoes this truth. God does not show favoritism. How does this challenge your own biases or preconceptions? Consider someone you might have unconsciously excluded from God's love. Pray for them today, and if possible, reach out with a gesture of kindness, embodying the inclusive love of Christ.

Day 4: Yet God - Hope in Our Shortcomings

Reading: Ephesians 2:1-10

Devotional: Paul's words in Ephesians mirror the "yet God" moment from Romans. We were dead in our transgressions, BUT God made us alive with Christ. Reflect on a time when you felt spiritually "dead" or distant from God. How did God intervene? Remember, we are God's handiwork, created for good works. What good work might God be preparing you for, even in the midst of your imperfections?

Day 5: God's Work Through Us

Reading: Philippians 2:12-13

Devotional: It's not about us improving, but God working through us. Today's reading reinforces this: God works in us to will and to act according to His purpose. Think about an area where you've been striving in your own strength. How might your approach change if you fully embraced the reality that it's God working in and through you? Today, before each task or interaction, take a moment to invite God to work through you, acknowledging your dependence on His strength rather than your own.
